For Sale                      

Our cattle are all age/source verified, natural fed, and meet or exceed gain, maternal, carcass grade, and handling targets. It costs too much today to feed poor cattle. We do offer creep to our calves but expect our cattle to "do it on their own" and do not power feed! If your looking for Big, overfed cattle - you won't find them here. Our calves are developed on a soybean hull and hay ration to keep them foraged based. All yearling Bulls are semen tested and all animals go through an extensive vaccination program and are conditioned prior to weaning. Those who don't make it are culled.
"What's for sale?" - I guess that everything is for sale for the right price. We would like to think that any of our animals that makes the grade are good enough to go to the show ring, be a donor or herd bull, and be a productive individual. We are a small operation, compared to many, that emphasizes quality not quantity and have stock for sale year round.

As a side note if you are a youth wanting to show in 4-H, FFA, or Jr. competition we would really like to talk with you about assisting you in your future prospects and a program that can work for you.

If not in person - by EDJE Internet Sales  edje.com  Simply go to edje.com and go to the internet sales link and get registered the day of the sales to bid on any or all animals. Sign up begins at noon CST Saturday 9/25 and the Breed sale starts at 3:00pm followed by the Prospect Sale at 4:00pm. Embryos will sell in the Breed Sale. On line catalogs are available at the WBE website worldbeefexpo.com   We would like to invite you to join in on these opportunities.

Herd Bull Prospects

No one animal in your herd has more influence to your success than your herd bull. He contributes 50% of the genetic power to all your calves and can this can mean profit or loss. Never be afraid to spend your money in this area - it will put dollars in your pocket!

First of all we develop very few bulls. If we have one it is not a "run of the mill" male with testicles. Our bulls come from great maternal dams. We do not power feed our prospects and  have tried to develop a more moderate framed herd that meet our quality traits - not some "hokas-pokas" advertising and "show-ring pin-ups". We guarantee our bulls to be soundness checked and breeders. Any bull  you buy from us is a bull that we would and may have used ourselves - they will be sires not just multipliers.

Grid is one of our ET mates that developed into a very nice sire. We have bred him to several dams from multiple breeds and has thrown mostly heifers and birth weights in the mid 70's. He is thick, muscular, and has a very gentle manner. He has done well in the show ring and in the pasture.
We collected him in the spring  and he was sold to John Small Farms.

Open/Bred Heifers

We breed and raise Fullblood, Purebred & Percentage Braunvieh as well as Angus, and Braunvieh influenced crosses with other breeds such as Maine.  We are also trying to develop a strain of QUALITY black genetic Braunvieh. All get their complete round of vaccinations, worming, and ready to go. We believe that all heifers should have strong maternal traits and eye appeal. We generally have limited numbers so you need to look at them early to get your pick.
We are currently using a lot of embryo transfer to accelerate the numbers of offspring and also have embryos for sale.

Our butcher beef is exclusively processed by Beutler Processing in Lafayette and sold only by order and availability. We sell on"hanging weight" and includes processing.
